Heat treatment

Ultimately, a heat treatment determines the mechanical properties of the casting, while it is also necessary to remove any stresses that may have formed in the piece after casting. Especially for steel alloys, but also for many cast iron alloys, this procedure is absolutely imperative. Allard-Europe has four gas furnaces with fully computer-controlled temperature regulation, which can handle temperatures up to 1250 degrees Celsius. Allard-Europe uses water, polymers or forced air to quench the pieces.

Properties

Dimensions of the furnaces

  • Furnace 1: 4950 x 6200 x 2500 mm
  • Furnace 2: 4850 x 6000 x 1750 mm
  • Furnace 3: 2700 x 4010 x 2100 mm
  • Furnace 6: dia. 3000 x 1500 mm (specially designed for specific applications)

Dimensions of the quench tanks

  • 115 m³ for the large watertank
  • 30 m³ for the small watertank
  • 10 m³ for the polymers tank

The area is equipped in a way large pieces can be completely submerged within 2 minutes.
